Sivasspor reach agreement in principle for signing of Birmingham's Pritchard
Getty Images
Sivasspor have reached an agreement in principle for the signing of Birmingham City midfielder Alex Pritchard.
The 31-year-old is set to sign a two-year deal with the Turkish Super Lig side.
Pritchard is due to travel to Turkey on Sunday to complete the formalities of the transfer.
He joined Birmingham from Sunderland in January and made nine Championship appearances as the club were relegated to League One.
Pritchard's Birmingham move saw him link up with former Sunderland manager Tony Mowbray, but he stepped away from the role in February after just over a month in charge to undergo medical treatment.
The Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate previously spent two and a half years at Sunderland and was part of the side that won promotion to the Championship via the play-offs in 2022.
Sivasspor, Turkish Cup winners in 2022, finished seventh in the Super Lig last season.

The Athletic reported earlier this week that Everton had received a €10million (£8.46m) offer from the Serie A side for the defender; a verbal proposal which fell below Everton’s asking price.
However, an agreement has now been reached between the clubs for the 26-year-old, who is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Everton.

Chelsea have contacted Leicester City to express an interest in signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
No formal offer has been made yet but the 25-year-old is believed to be keen only on a move to Stamford Bridge if he is to leave his boyhood club.
His contract at King Power Stadium runs until 2027. Dewsbury-Hall is seen as a perfect fit for the style of football Chelsea want to play under new head coach Enzo Maresca, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in charge earlier this summer.
Forest’s Niakhate to have medical ahead of Lyon transfer
Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhate is set to join Lyon in a move that will dramatically reduce the risk of the club incurring another points penalty next season.
Forest have agreed a deal in the region of £20million with the Ligue 1 club and the 28-year-old is due to undergo medical examinations on Friday.
Niakhate’s impending move carries a lot of significance for Forest because it means they expect to be able to comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability regulations (PSR).

Villarreal set to sign Leganes goalkeeper Conde in €2.5m transfer

Villarreal are set to sign goalkeeper Diego Conde from Leganes on a five-year contract.
The 25-year-old helped Leganes secure promotion back to La Liga for the 2024-25 season, and was instrumental in the side conceding the fewest goals (26) in the division.
Villarreal will pay €2.5million plus bonuses for the former Atletico Madrid and Getafe goalkeeper, who will join the Yellow Submarine pending a medical.

Maresca interest in Dewsbury-Hall no surprise
It isn’t surprising that Maresca would wish to return to Leicester City and try to recruit a gem or two from his Championship-title season, and he placed a huge amount of faith in Dewsbury-Hall.
The academy graduate started 41 of the 46 league games last season in what was a marathon campaign, so he is reliable and robust, but he also showed he was effective with 12 goals and 14 assists in the Championship, often being the player that made the difference.
Brighton and Brentford have shown interest before and while Dewsbury-Hall has stated he isn’t in a rush to leave his boyhood club, a move to a big six side may appeal.
Leicester also have continuing profit and sustainability (PSR) concerns and the end of their accounting year ends on June 30, so Chelsea may be looking to rush through a deal to get a better price, but Leicester have already rejected a £30million bid for him, from Brighton in January.
Dewsbury-Hall will bring energy to Chelsea’s midfield, but he also has quality and an ability to run at defenders as a high eight. More importantly for Maresca, he knows his system of play from last season and could hit the ground running.

The pair worked together at Leicester as they secured promotion to the Premier League as winners of the Championship last season.
The midfielder made 49 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands club last term, scoring 12 goals, as they returned to the top flight at the first time of asking.
Ten Hag set for coaching staff reshuffle at Man United

Erik ten Hag is close to agreeing his new contract as Manchester United manager, with talks advancing to add Ruud van Nistelrooy and Rene Hake to his staff.
Discussions have been taking place about Ten Hag refreshing his team and progress is being made on appointing Van Nistelrooy and Hake as assistant managers.
Their arrival, if confirmed, would lead to the prospect of Mitchell van der Gaag departing.
Ten Hag has been weighing up a reshuffle of coaching duties after a turbulent season and it is felt Van der Gaag may see now as the right time to step away. He has ambitions to be a No 1 again, having managed in Portugal and Holland previously.
Ten Hag and Van der Gaag retain a strong relationship but the new INEOS football structure provides an opportunity for a shake-up.
Van der Gaaghas beenpivotal to United’s coaching programme,so his work would need replacing. Van Nistelrooy and Hake, as two managers in their own rights, couldprovide this.
Their appointments would mean a recalibration of Steve McClaren’s exact role. Separate talks are also set to take place over Darren Fletcher’s responsibilities at the club, with Benni McCarthy’s position uncertain.

Real Madrid trigger option to buy Joselu ahead of move to Qatar

Real Madrid have exercised their option to buy Joselu from Espanyol ahead of the striker's expected move to Al Gharafa in Qatar.
The Athletic previously reported that Madrid had decided to sign the Spain international on a permanent deal from Espanyol, having impressed on loan at the Santiago Bernabeu last season.
Madrid have now activated the 34-year-old's €1.5million purchase option and are expected to sell him on for the same sum.
Joselu is set to leave the Spanish capital after receiving a lucrative proposal to play in the Middle East.
The Qatari offer is expected to significantly improve Joselu’s salary compared to what he was earning in Spain.
Joselu scored 17 goals and provided three assists last season, making 18 starts across all competitions. His standout moment was a decisive brace in the late comeback win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final second leg in Madrid.
